Nanook Fake Fake Fake...

Wow! Who knew; reality TV back in the day. As of today, I haven't seen the film. I was surprised to read the notes of the journal assignment. I am eager to see what this is all about.

This man that created this film was ahead of his time. We watch these all the time now. Reality shows are very popular now. I'm sure half the garbage on these shows is fake. More and more we are exposed to these people that are "drama queens". We are to believe that its normal for people to sleep with there husband's brother and their cousins. Sweet sixteen parties are now twenty thousand dollar extravigansas and if you don't have one there must be something wrong with you.

I have to wonder why "Nanook" was made to be false. Was their life not exciting enough? I think because the creator went into the project with his own ideas in mind of how these people were suppose to live and found out that they didn't fit his mold. Therefore; he made them into the "show" he wanted to portrait of eskimo life.

Me as a Reader and a Writer

As I've become older and more busy I find myself reading mostly fix-it mauals and how-to books. I've never been a big reader but I would occasionally get an itch to read a popular book that I had heard about on TV. I like to read the newspaper once in a while but even then I always lean to the comics or sodoku.

When I was young 11-20 I enjoyed writing emensely. Poetry and even long journal narrative of this adventure or that. I think "life" got in the way. Too many things to worry about getting done, and bills to pay, and house to clean, dinner to cook. Once every now and then I will still sit down, mostly when I'm overwhelmed with the world: and write down my thoughts. I feel it is a way to release stress and come to a peaceful median.
